About ppre and what we do

About ppre

ppre Limited was set up in January 2003 as a not-for-profit research company. In May 2010 it became a Community Interest Company. Community Interest Companies (CICs) are limited companies, with special additional features, created for the use of people who want to conduct a business or other activity for community benefit, and not purely for private advantage.

Its managing director John Eversley had previously been Senior Research Fellow in the Public Policy Research Unit at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) for seven years.  Ceri Butler joined ppre from being a student at QMUL. John later went to London Metropolitan University as a Senior Lecturer in Voluntary and Community Organisations where Alice Bigelow also worked.   ppre has connections with several other universities.

ppre’s objectives are:

o To carry out research on public policy and management.

o To promote education, training and development relating to public policy and management
research.

o To develop new methods and materials for research and development in public policy.

o To promote Equal Opportunities in carrying out public policy research.
